Lesson 6: Staying Secure in Contentment

God does promise to bless what we put our hands too and He does promise to reveal our purpose in life. However, He does not promise that when we attain any of these, that it will automatically bring the peace and contentment we need. True lasting contentment can only be found in our relationship with Jesus and obeying His instructions.

Lesson 5: The Four Circles of Contentment – Thinking Clearly

Some religious and self- help teachings will encourage you to find peace by clearing your mind and to meditate on nothing, to let your mind drift and empty itself. This does not lead to contentment but rather results in a passive mind where your ability to choose what you think is weakened. This last circle is so critical in contentment, and in this meditate circle we put good things.

Lesson 4: The Four Circles of Contentment – Prayers & Petitions

We may think, I’ll pray when the going gets tough, or I will just pray about the big issues of life. But the key is to pray about every issue that might be a concern to us, big or small. We need to take the issues that cause our soul to be disquiet and bring them into the circle of prayer.

Lesson 3: The Four Circles of Contentment – Casting Care & Worry

In Philippians 4:6, Paul says “don’t worry about anything”. How is it possible to not worry about anything? It is normal to worry when there is a global virus, a forest fire, or some other threat on our lives or the ones we love. The emotional pain we feel in worry is a signal that something is wrong. It is time to trust God, apply our faith before worry leads to anxiety which leads to depression.

Lesson 1: Finding Contentment

When we stop and recognize the blessings God has given us, it will lead to a sense of security, gratitude, and generosity. Giving to others breaks the chains of materialism and selfishness and helps us understand that our value isn’t solely tied to possessions.

Establishing Your True Identity

Our destiny is directly related to the understanding of our spiritual identity and the choices we make because of it. Our identity is first based on the eternal kingdom of God before the identity we have from the nation we live or the family we grew up in. In establishing this true identity there are four things we need to remember.
